The quote above the front door at the Bell Buckle Mosaic House from Joseph Campbell is:
“We cannot cure the world of sorrow,
But we can choose to live in Joy.”
Twenty years ago I was carving styrofoam (working in a process taught by Sherri Warner Hunter) to create my on forms on which to mosaic. My first piece was an angel….for the simple reason I had stayed in the “Angel Room” at a local Bell Buckle B&B with friends also taking the workshop to learn the process. One angel lead to another. A kneeling angel landed with Mom and Dad where they placed her in the front flower bed. You would pass her on your way to their front door. Mom named her Joy.
Joy came to the BBMH after Mom’s passing last year. She sits in the center of the brick patio my son John and I set right in front of the front door and under the Joseph Campbell quote. That’s just the way things come together around here.
Go find your JOY!
